Day 1: Fly to Kibale Forest National Park – Bigodi Wetlands Walk

Your 5-Day Uganda Fly-in Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari begins with a transfer to Entebbe International Airport for your scheduled domestic flight to Kasese Airstrip. Upon arrival, a Saso Uganda Safaris representative will transfer you (approx. 1.5 hours) to your lodge near Kibale Forest National Park.

In the afternoon, embark on a guided nature walk through Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary, a community-managed eco-project rich in biodiversity. Look out for species like the great blue turaco, baboons, colobus monkeys, bushbucks, and more.

Day 2: Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest

After breakfast, you’ll head to the park headquarters for a pre-tracking briefing. Then set off into the forest to track one of the largest populations of wild chimpanzees in East Africa. The trek typically lasts 1–2 hours, and once you find them, you’ll spend an unforgettable hour observing their behavior in the wild.

Along the way, you may encounter other primates such as red colobus monkeys, L’Hoest’s monkeys, grey-cheeked mangabeys, and red-tailed monkeys.

Day 3: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

This is the highlight of your 5-Day Uganda Fly-in Gorilla & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari. After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a detailed briefing, then begin your trek into the dense rainforest.

The trek may last anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on the gorillas’ location. Once located, you’ll spend a magical hour observing the family group as they go about their daily routines – feeding, playing, and grooming.

Note: The terrain in Bwindi is rugged, so a reasonable level of fitness is recommended.

Day 5: Fly Back to Entebbe – End of Safari

After breakfast, transfer to Kihihi or Kisoro airstrip for your return flight to Entebbe International Airport. Your safari ends upon arrival. Airport transfers or additional overnight stays in Entebbe/Kampala can be arranged on request.
